TRAVEL DESCRIPTION
The archaeological zone of Huchuy Qosqo or “Little Cusco”, was known during the Inca period as Qaqyaqawana (which in Spanish means “place from where the thunder is seen”). According to chroniclers, this enclosure was inhabited by the Inca Wiracocha until his death. It is mentioned that there are at least 2 buildings. In addition, the presence of terraces and cliffs. Also, from Huchuy Qosqo you have a spectacular view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the mountains of the Cordillera del Urubamba.
TRAVEL ITINERARY
Day 1: Cusco - Pucamarca - Huchuy Qosqo
- First of all, in the morning we will pick you up at your hotel with our transportation. Consequently, we will be transported with all the equipment to the vicinity of Tambomachay, preferred resting place of the Inca Rulers. So, this trip will take about 30 minutes.
- Likewise, we will make a brief visit to the Tambomachay Archaeological Site. Then, we go towards the lagoons of “Qoriqocha”. Certainly, known as the lagoon of gold and ducks. Above all, it is one of the most famous lagoons of the tour. The one we will visit on our way. Subsequently, we will arrive at the community of Pumamarca in a time of 7 hours.
- Then, in the Indigenous Community of Pucamarca we will have lunch. In addition, we will make a previous visit to the house of the villagers. Day 2: Pukamarca - Huchuy Qosqo - Cusco
- Similarly, after breakfast, we will say goodbye to the families. Soon, we continue towards the archaeological complex of Huchuy Qosqo. Therefore, this walk will take us about 1h 30m. So, a nutritious lunch will be waiting for us there.
- After that, we will visit the majestic Inca Archaeological Complex “Huchuy Qosqo” (Little Cusco). In addition, we will observe ceremonial centers, squares, canals, terraces, sacred enclosures, etc.
- Consequently, after the tour, we will descend to the town of Lamay in an average of 2 hours. In the meantime, you will be able to enjoy the Sacred Valley until you reach the Lamay district. As a result, our transportation will be waiting for us there to return to Cusco City.
