TRAVEL DESCRIPTION
Live an unforgettable night at the Skylodge 400 meters above the ground in the mountains of Urubamba, Peru with our tour of Machupicchu and Skylodge from Illa Kuntur travel. You will ascend on a zip line or via ferrata, equipped with everything necessary for your safety. Once in your hanging capsule, enjoy the impressive view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas and fall asleep to the relaxing sound of the Vilcanota River under a starry sky.
Combine a day of adventure in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas with impressive landscapes. Feel the adrenaline as you climb the mountain via the Via Ferrata and descend at full speed on a zip line. DAY 01: CUSCO | SALT MINES| MORAY | URUBAMBA | PACHAR | SKY LODGE ADVENTURE
This first day we will visit the Maras and Moray salt mines and then we will head towards the sky lodge.
DAY 02: SKY LODGE | ZIP lINES | OLLANTAYTAMBO | TRAIN TRIP | HOT WATERS
On the second day we will carry out the ZIP LINE activity and then we will travel by train to Aguas Calientes.
DAY 03: MACHU PICCHU | HOT WATERS | OLLANTAYTAMBO | RETORN BY TRAIN | CUSCO
This last day we will visit Machu Picchu for 2 hours or more and then we will return to Cusco.
TRAVEL ITINERARY
Day 01: Cusco | Salt Mines| Moray | Urubamba | Pachar | Sky Lodge Adventure
- Your day of out-of-town fun begins with hotel pickup in Cusco at 8:00 am. The first destination is Chinchero, a picturesque town about an hour away with spectacular views of snow-capped mountains and corn fields. In Chinchero, there is a demonstration of textiles handmade by local women with natural dyes.
- Afterwards, we continue towards Moray, known for its formation of circular terraces that served as an Inca agricultural laboratory. The site is explored and photographs taken before heading to the Salineras de Maras, just 3 km away. Here, more than 3,000 pools have been producing salt since ancient times.
- After a lunch with varied options, we travel to Pachar to ascend to the Sky Lodge capsules, where we will spend the night. An intrepid hike is taken to reach the transparent hanging lodge, where you can enjoy a gourmet dinner and stunning views of the valley and the Milky Way.

Day 02: Sky Lodge | Zip Lines | Ollantaytambo | Train Trip | Hot Waters
- This day is impressive, you can wake up with an incredible view of the Sacred Valley from your glass room. Then head to the kitchen to enjoy a delicious breakfast with a stunning view. At the indicated time, prepare to descend the zip line. Once at the base, our transportation will be waiting to take you to the train station in the town of Ollantaytambo, where we will board the Inca Rail Voyager class train to Aguas Calientes, the town near Machu Picchu.
- During the train ride, the landscape will be part of the reward of this trip. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our team will be waiting for you at the exit door of the station to take you to your hotel, where you will spend the night. After check-in, you will have free time to relax this afternoon.
- You can choose to relax in the hot springs of Aguas Calientes or stroll through the picturesque streets of this charming town.

Day 03: Machu Picchu | Hot Waters | Ollantaytambo | Return by Train | Cusco
- After breakfast at your hotel, you will head with your guide to Machu Picchu. You’ll need to get up before dawn to avoid the crowds and enjoy a spectacular sunrise over Machu Picchu. From your hotel, you will walk a short distance to catch a bus that will take you on a 30-minute ride to the very entrance of the Inca citadel. You will arrive just before sunrise, which turns the Inca citadel golden.
- After marveling at its unique beauty and taking your first photographs, our expert guide will accompany you on a 2-3 hour guided tour of the site. You will visit all the important points of Machu Picchu and learn a lot from your guide. Once the guided tour is over, you will have several hours to explore on your own or to ascend Huayna Picchu if you have booked in advance. This climb can take up to 3 hours and will allow you to enjoy more impressive views of the entire Inca city from the top of Huayna Picchu mountain.
- When you are ready to leave, you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes. You’ll have time to choose a restaurant to eat before boarding the return train. At the time indicated on your ticket, you will take the train that will take you back to Ollantaytambo, where your driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Travel Guide
The rules to be respected within Machu Picchu are:
- The entrance to the Inca city is from 06:00 to 16:00 hrs.
- The entry and consumption of alcoholic beverages is totally prohibited.
- Hydrating drinks must be transported in bottles (but not disposable).
- The consumption of food inside the archaeological park is not authorized.
- The entry of pets is prohibited.
- The dumping of garbage inside the enclosure is prohibited. Outside the archaeological site there are garbage containers.
- Smoking is prohibited, much less lighting campfires.
- Regarding luggage, only small bags and backpacks are accepted. However, if you have a lot of luggage you can leave it before entering the Archaeological Site in the warehouses, the use of the same implies an extra cost of 3 to 5 soles.
- It is not allowed to climb the Inca walls, much less paint or scratch them.
- It is necessary to be responsible for your own, if you are accompanied by children, take care of them so that they do not get into mischief that could cause irreversible damage.
- Inside the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu you will not find hygienic services. It is recommended to visit them before entering.
- The use of canes is allowed only for the elderly or people with disabilities, the canes must have a rubber tip.
- Respect the signage, the Sanctuary has some prohibited accesses that you must respect and only travel through the authorized areas, which are duly established and marked.
Recommendations
- The first thing you need to do is buy your Ticket to Machu Picchu and your train tickets in advance. Especially if the visit is made in high season (May – September).
- Do not forget to carry your identity document in your luggage, either; passport, university student card or DNI.
- To board the train you must be at the station 30 minutes before departure time, and present your ticket and identification document. Otherwise, you will not be able to board the train.
- It is important to have cash in soles (Peruvian currency) and dollars, in small denominations, because most places in Aguas Calientes do not accept cards. However, you will find quite a few ATMs in the city of Cusco, Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes.
- The visiting hours to Machu Picchu most frequented by tourists is between 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Therefore, it is recommended to go up to the Inca City in the early morning or in the afternoon so that you can enjoy your tour with peace of mind.
- If you are North American or belong to the European Community, you will not need a visa for stays of less than 90 days. If you come from countries that make up the Andean Community (CAN), you can enter just by presenting your identity document.
